The fascination with archaeometallurgy processes has been the beginning and the base of the Dziejba Association’s activity in the area of experimental archaeology. It was a starting point for any other further ventures, including the reconstruction of the hypothetical settlement from the Bronze Age. Since Autumn 2002, today’s builders of the Settlement have been constructing their own furnaces and equipment, used in adequate for archaic techniques metal tooling. They also have been creating their own solutions to the questions of this area. In Spring 2004, the Dziejba Association has made up a small workshop dedicated to developing such passion. We would also like to get involved in creating an interdisciplinary student’s club in the AGH University of Science and Technology, which would focus on exploring and ministering the technology heritage. We handle an excellent possibility of simultaneous experimenting in prehistoric or historic metallurgy processes and making our own technical and artistic ideas come true. |
